Babushka and the Boiling Frogs is an original performance about the role of community care as a necessary alternative to surveillance, policing, and constructed isolation. Through multiple forms of puppetry, sound, and projection, Babushka seeks to make the topic of surveillance technology and infrastructure accessible to those unfamiliar. Revolving around the character Babushka, her neighborhood, and the changes that unfold there, Babushka tells the story of how fear can be manipulated to pull people apart and how surveillance offers a false promise of safety—and how other worlds are possible
