Working through contemplative composition and live improvisation, performers build and dissolve scenes in real time, listening for what emerges between bodies, gestures, and the changing attention of the room. Inspired by Anne Carson’s Autobiography of Red, Sara Ahmed’s writing on orientation, and Susan Sgorbati’s emergent improvisation practices, the work follows the ways we move toward one another, lose our bearings, and find ourselves changed through contact. Narrative gathers through image, tone, rhythm, proximity, and relationship. Each performance becomes its own living world, intimate, unstable, and alive.
