Experience the wit, elegance, and imagination of Joseph Haydn through a captivating selection of movements drawn from several of his most beloved symphonies. This unique program highlights Haydn’s remarkable creativity while revealing how even he was not above borrowing from himself, revisiting and reimagining some of his most charming and effective musical ideas.
Named for its celebrated posthorn solo, which echoes the call of a traveling mail coach, Mozart’s Posthorn Serenade transports listeners to a world of elegance and festivity. One of Mozart’s most joyful and expansive works, it captures the spirit of celebration and adventure that characterized the young composer at the height of his creative powers. Overflowing with memorable melodies, humor, and ingenuity, this program puts on display the craftsmanship of the two musical giants who defined the Classical style.
